What We Do

We pool our talents
share our rich heritage
innovatively and creatively
burnishing the gems we have in our midst,

To this end we produce and organise talks and performance events, develop, pilot and deliver school workshops, (see workshops).

At this stage, because of constraints on resources these workshops are primarily focused in the South West. Please discuss your requirements in the first instance.

The piloting of a sample of our education resource on our website is meant for a national and even international network of interested participants. These materials are available for teachers to use, pilot and feedback on. They can contribute to cross curriculum schools programme of work in citizenship, literacy, black history and creativity at key stages One and Two. SEE PROJECT share.

the talks and performance events are organised by our artists group

see www.ourstoriesmakewaves.co.uk

This website will be updated in May 2008 and again in September 2008.

Our aim to enhance key stage 2 and key stage 3 students and
others learning in citizenship and British history i.e: African/
African-Caribbean history from a black perspective.
